大須観音駅から歩いて10分程の本町通沿いにある麺処です。周囲には寺院と仏具店が多く、歴史を感じさせる雰囲気の町並みです。
そんな場所で駐車場を完備しているとは歴史のなせる技でしょう。細い路地を入った店の裏手に5台分あります。ちなみに、店の南側の名鉄協商のコインパも提携駐車場として利用できます。
土曜の13時に入店すると先客1人、後客1組で、BGMもテレビもなく、とても静かな店内です。
メニューには定食やセット物が多数あり、その中から「みそ煮込」を+590円で小天丼セットで注文すると、10分程待って着鍋します。
小さめで高さのある特徴的な”煮込”の土鍋で、取り皿には牛蒡と海苔の天ぷらが添えられます。具は葱、揚げ、椎茸、玉子、蒲鉾に、大きめな”かしわ”が入ります。
麺は堅さがありますが有名店の様に芯はなく食べやすく、標準的な味ですが久々のみそ煮込なこともあり、赤味噌の風味がとても良く感じます。
小天丼は凝った揚げ方をされた”えのき”と、茄子、南瓜、ししとうに海老が入ります。それらに掛けられるのは名古屋らしい甘辛のタレで、天ぷらからは時折ごま油の香りがします。
海老は、かなり歯ごたえの強いもので、赤みの強さから車海老と思われます。
小天丼と言う割には、内容が充実していて+590円とお値打ち。少し豪華なランチになりました。
