名古屋から母が上京し、「叙々苑の焼肉が食べてみたい」と言われて連れてきました。10年以上、恵比寿ガーデンプレイスの近所にいながら、ガーデンプレイスのビルで食事をすることは、ほとんどありません。こちらの叙々苑も、二回目の訪問です。
予約の段階で、二名と伝えたら「テーブル席か窓向きのカウンター席のどちらが良いですか?」と聞かれ、カウンター席を選びました。ただし「人気のため、時間制限があります」と言われました。入店が夜の開店時間と同時だったから、結構空いていましたが。
私は、初訪問のお店の場合「基本的なメニューを注文する」ようにしています。焼き肉屋の定番と言えば、カルビ、ロース、タン、冷麺でしょ? それと、こちらのお店のおススメ商品「すだれ炙り焼き」を注文しました。
一品目に「すだれ炙り焼き(ロース)」が来て、その演出に感動しました。20年近く前、韓国に行ったときに、韓国人に連れて行ってもらった焼肉の名店で出てきたのと似ています。キッチンばさみで焼いたお肉を切る姿が、衝撃的だったので鮮明に覚えています。それと同じ。
担当してくださった藤田マネージャーの接客が素晴らしかったです。母もマネージャーと会話を楽しみながら、美味しく、喜びながら食べていました。お肉のうま味が巻いたサンチュの新鮮さと絡まって、口の中で良い具合に混ざります。
焼肉は、タレが命ですね。タレが上手く染みていて、お肉の美味しさを引き立てていました。カルビ、ロース、タン塩もどれも満足でした。
焼き肉屋さんにあまり行かないのは、「臭い」です。臭いが服や体につくから、行きたくない・・・でも、こちらのお店は、換気が良くて、臭いが気になりませんでした。味も、景色も、換気も良い。恵比寿ガーデンプレイスは、やっぱり大好きな場所です。
