Food Plenty of Shugakuin vegetables grown in a blessed land with good drainage.
We mainly use vegetables from farmers who have been farming on land owned by the Imperial Household Agency inside the Shugakuin Imperial Villa. The land of Mt. Hiei has a lot of granite and is characterized by good drainage due to its sandy loam soil. Vegetables grown there. In order to bring out the original flavor to the fullest, we provide cooking methods that suit each type of food. Vegetables are living things. Just like with fish, freshness is life. Please take your time and enjoy the vegetables purchased directly from farmers.

I have been training for a total of 24 years at Kyoto Kitcho and Hiiragi Ryokan. At most of the restaurants I've worked at, I was confined to the kitchen. "I want people to eat the food I made right in front of them." Continuing to warm up that desire, the dream finally came true. We now have a place where you can have a conversation over food with each person. We will serve you the food with care and sincerity!

My parents' home is Nono, an antique store in Gion, and I use pieces from my parents' home, Kyoto Kanzando, with a particular focus on Meiji period pieces. In particular, our course meals incorporate seasonal elements throughout, and are designed to give you a feel for the events and seasons. It's all about feeling and enjoying the seasons with your whole body. Enjoy a luxurious moment all to yourself.

When you arrive at the store and open the door, you'll be greeted by a small, adult space with a clean and beautiful counter. This is because the owner is the only one managing the food and working alone in the kitchen. Rather than having a large number of seats, the seats are wide enough to create a spacious space. To accommodate this, we leave one seat between each customer, so that you can enjoy the luxurious cuisine while sharpening your five senses. Delicacy, boldness, and depth with your tongue.
