1999(平成11)年創業の蕎麦店「そば岡本」さん。実はこの店、かなりの隠れた名店なのだとか。
もともと、同店の先代が「松本蕎麦店」で修行されていたそうですが、その店は江戸時代から200年以上続く「伝説の名店」とも名高い歴史あるお店なのだそう。
歴史を遡ること「松本蕎麦店」は松江藩松平家7代藩主の不昧公(ふまいこう)のお抱え蕎麦店で人気を博していたそうで、そんな同店から受け継いだ歴史ある味を「そば岡本」でいただけるのです。
閑話休題、実際にお店に訪れてみると、お店というよりは一軒家。店の中に入るとまごう事なき一軒家。まるでおばあちゃんの家に行ったような感覚になります。
メニューは「割子そば」「釜揚げそば」「ざるそば」「山かけそば」のみ(トッピング、酒は除く)。釜揚げそばも気になりましたが、今回は割子そばでお願いしました。
香り強目のそばは、固めでコシの強いストロングなタイプ。つゆは甘みのある、超・濃いめのたまり醤油に近しいもの。店員さんいわく「少しづつかけてね」とのことなので、別添えの薬味と合わせて楽しみます。
食べ終えたあとはお待ちかねのそば湯タイム。これまた濃厚なポタージュのようなとろりとしたそば湯はまさにご馳走!濃いめのつゆとそば湯の組み合わせたるや至高の一言です。
「そば松本」と茶碗にあったので、帰り際におばちゃんに聞いてみたところ、「松本蕎麦店」の閉店時に受け取った茶碗をそのまま使用してるのだそうです。
余談ですが、「松本蕎麦店」は先代が亡くなったあと一時閉店してましたが、現在は息子さんが後を継いで別の場所でお店を営んでいるとのこと。
歴史のある正統派の出雲そば、格別のものがありました。次回はマストで釜揚げそばを食べたいですね。
