In 1958, he took over his parents' Restaurants, and in 1965 it was awarded three stars. In 1961, he received the MOF (National Order of the Most Outstanding Craftsman), and in 1975, he received France's most prestigious award, the Legion of Honor. In order to convey the wonders of French cuisine to future generations, Paul Bocuse founded Restaurants, hotels, schools, foundations, and the world's top cooking competition, Bocuse d'Or, based in Lyon. He devoted all his energy to the development of modern French cuisine.
