Born and raised in Otaru as the third generation of Sushi, he decided at a young age to carry on the tradition of the long-established restaurant. A Sushi chef who has steadily improved his skills by training and winning the grand prize at the 2007 Hokkaido Sushi Techniques Competition sponsored by Hokuzencho, and in 2008 representing Japan at the SUSHI AWARD 2008, a world Sushi competition.
